Join us as we honor Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month through a fun and competitive coed volleyball tournament! This event celebrates the strength, diversity, and cultural pride of the AAPI community through the spirit of sport and teamwork. All are welcome—players and fans alike!

What: Reverse Coed 6s tournament to celebrate AAPI month

🔄 Format & Gameplay

• Teams must follow standard clockwise rotation and be in the correct position at the time of serve.
• 5-minute shared warm-up before each match.
• BYOBall (Bring Your Own Ball).

Pool Play

• 4-team pools: 2 sets to 21 (cap at 23)
• 5-team pools: 1 set to 25 (cap at 27)

⏱ Delay Policy:
For every 5-minute delay past warm-up, a 5-point penalty will be applied. Prolonged delays may result in a forfeit, per tournament director discretion.

📋 Rules

Attacking Rules

• Female players may attack from anywhere on the court, with no restrictions.
• Male players must jump from behind the 10-ft (3-meter) line to attack, regardless of whether they are front or back row.

If a male player attacks in front of the 10-ft line:

• The ball must be contacted with a clear upward motion (e.g., a bump or set).
• No downward spiking is allowed from this position.

Blocking Rules

• Male players may not block. Hands cannot break the plane or be above the net.
• Female front-row players may block any attacker.

🏆 Playoffs & Prizes

• Top 2 teams from each pool advance to playoffs.
• Tiebreaker order:
  Set Wins → Head-to-Head → Point Differential → Total Points → Coin Flip
• Semifinals: Best of 1 to 25
• Finals: Best of 3 (25–25–15)
  Playoff format may be adjusted based on available time.

Prizes:

• 1st Place:
  $500 (with 8 teams) | $600 (with 10 teams)
• 2nd Place:
  NY Strangers Swag
