38th Annual New York Mini Volleyball Tournament Returns to Chinatown and the Lower East Side
New York, NY – July 2026 — The New York Strangers Sports Organization (NYSSO), with the longstanding support of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA), which has proudly supported NYMini since its inception, proudly presents the 38th Annual New York Mini Volleyball Tournament (NYMini) on July 18–19, 2026.
As one of Chinatown’s longest-running annual sporting events, NYMini has united athletes, families, volunteers, and spectators for 38 years while celebrating the tradition of Asian volleyball and strengthening the community throughout Manhattan’s Chinatown and the Lower East Side.
This year’s tournament will feature 68 teams—40 Men’s Teams and 28 Women’s Teams—with more than 1,100 athletes, coaches, and team staff representing New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco. Competition will take place across 17 outdoor volleyball courts at Seward Park, Sara D. Roosevelt Park, Sol Lain Playground, Henry M. Jackson Playground, and Lillian Wald Playground.
“NYMini is more than a volleyball tournament—it’s a celebration of community,” said Danny Moy, Tournament Director. “For 38 years, we’ve brought generations of athletes and volunteers together through sport while investing in youth development and giving back to our community.”
The tournament attracts thousands of visitors each year, providing a positive economic impact for local restaurants, shops, and neighborhood businesses. As a nonprofit organization, NYSSO reinvests tournament proceeds into year-round youth volleyball clinics, competitive youth teams, coaching development, and community programs throughout New York City.
NYSSO extends its sincere appreciation to the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA) for its unwavering support since the inaugural NYMini tournament. Their partnership has helped make NYMini one of North America’s longest running and most respected Asian volleyball tournaments.
The tournament is free to attend, and the public is encouraged to come out and enjoy a weekend of exciting volleyball and community spirit.
