May is AAPI Heritage Month, and we’re marking the occasion the best way we know how — with volleyball. Come out and compete with us on Saturday, May 2nd as we host a CoEd 6s tournament at Murray Bergtraum High School in Lower Manhattan.
Whether you’re a seasoned player or just looking for a great day of competition and community, this is the event for you.
What to Expect
Doors open at 3:00 PM with play kicking off at 3:15 PM. We’ll have 8–10 teams split across two pools, competing in a format that keeps things fast, fun, and competitive. Rosters are capped at 8 players, and all teams must have a minimum of 2 women on the court at all times.
Pool play format depends on pool size — 4-team pools play 2 games to 21 (cap 23), while 5-team pools play 1 game to 25 (cap 27). The top 2 teams from each pool advance to playoffs, with seeding determined by set wins, head-to-head record, point differential, and more.
Semifinals are Best of 1 to 25, and the Finals go Best of 3 (25/25/15). Come ready to play — there’s a 5-point penalty for every 5 minutes of delay after warm-ups.
Prizes
The stakes are real. First place takes home $500 cash plus Strangers swag, and second place earns Strangers swag as well.
How to Register
Team fees are $250 total ($200 registration + $50 security deposit). Full payment is required to lock in your spot. If you need to withdraw, registration is fully refundable as long as you email us by April 11.
